about

we hooked up with german live dub electronica artist bernd friedmann via his label nonplace after having heard early drome recordings and his great remix of mbira player william rusere released on ross adam's label 'district six'. we were really just trying our luck and he responded with his awesome remix of 'southern right'. burnt friedman & the new dub players are about to release a new album featuring their own version of this track. bernd has also recently released a collaboration with jaki liebezeit of Can fame - the album is called 'playing secret rhythms'. he's also one half of flanger with uwe schmitt (atom heart / senor coconut) and they have released 3 albums under the ninja tune / ntone label. he's also released album's under the names drome and nonplace urban field.
